Action for Involvement is a Sheffield-based think tank specialising in organising and delivering events on topical issues with high level speakers to stimulate debate and educate people in our communities on ways to get involved in community decisions to improve the quality of their lives.

Our events, which are open to everyone, bring together key decision-makers in the City and national or international arena to explore topical issues in order to increase value for money from service providers through greater community involvement.  

 We focus on governance and sustainability in Public and Private Sector local or national service delivery. With our wide experience of public, commercial and non-profit organizations, we bring a broad outlook on corporate social responsibility, the public private partnership and public/private finance initiative.  We aim to improve quality of life by creating greater awareness and involvement affecting:

• Public/Private Finance Initiatives, Enforcement & Regulation, compliance, value for money, accountability, governance, transparency
• Environment, Transport andTechnology
• Housing, Education, Health & Welfare
• The extent that local authorities empower people to take control

Our dynamic, enthused team are volunteers offering a diverse range of expertise, relate to, and understand the issues of disaffection affecting our communities.

We are keen to involve event participants in organising follow-up events or activities and circulate reports via mailing lists, website and media.

 

Donations & Standard Charge

Voluntary Suggested Donation of £1 payable at the meeting to help meet our core costs.

Donations via Paypal to help with our core running costs are always very greatly appreciated which helps with our insurance premium which is nearly £35 a month,  communications and not least volunteer expenses.

Although our public events and meetings are FREE for pre-booked places, we apply a standard charge of £15 for people without a confirmed booked place or who book and dont turn up.  We are therefore able to provide accurate numbers, avoid waste so that our host, DLA Piper LLP optimises their Corporate Social Responsibility budget effectively.
